Exercise Physiology

Our Accredited Exercise Physiologist (AEP) is here to guide you with evidence-based exercise programs tailored to your individual needs, whether you’re managing a chronic condition, recovering from injury, or simply looking to improve your overall wellbeing.

What is Exercise Physiology?

Exercise Physiology is the science of how movement and physical activity can be used to prevent, manage, and treat a wide range of health conditions. Our AEPs are university-qualified allied health professionals who specialise in designing safe and effective exercise programs for people with medical conditions, injuries, or disabilities.

Unlike a personal trainer, an Exercise Physiologist has the expertise to work with complex health needs—including chronic disease, musculoskeletal injuries, metabolic conditions, heart and lung health, and much more. They work alongside your healthcare team, ensuring your program is safe, achievable, and designed just for you.

Who Can Benefit?

Exercise Physiology is suitable for people of all ages and fitness levels. Some of the most common conditions we help with include:

  • Diabetes and pre-diabetes
  • Heart disease and high blood pressure
  • Arthritis and osteoporosis
  • Chronic pain and persistent injuries
  • Mental health conditions (including anxiety and depression)
  • Obesity and metabolic syndrome
  • Respiratory conditions (like asthma or COPD)
  • Cancer recovery and fatigue
  • Falls prevention and balance issues
  • Sports injuries and rehabilitation

If you’re not sure whether Exercise Physiology is right for you, our friendly team is happy to chat about your specific needs.

What to Expect

Your journey with our Exercise Physiologist starts with a thorough assessment to understand your health history, goals, and any barriers you might be facing. Together, we’ll develop a tailored exercise plan that fits into your lifestyle—whether that’s at home, in the gym, or right here at our clinic with full access to our gym facilities.

Our programs are evidence-based, focusing on gradual progress, building confidence, and making movement enjoyable again. We’ll monitor your progress, adjust your plan as needed, and provide ongoing education and support.
